Welcome to our nurturing and inclusive Reception classroom, where every child is valued, supported, and encouraged to thrive. In this warm and welcoming environment, children feel safe, confident, and excited to explore the world around them. Through play-based learning, rich experiences, and positive relationships, they develop key early skills in communication, social interaction, and independence. Our classroom fosters curiosity, creativity, and a lifelong love of learning, laying a strong foundation for future success and well-being. 

As the seasons change, we will also learn about winter, identifying seasonal signs in the world around us and discussing how different types of weather affect people and materials. In our learning about the world, we will investigate waterproof materials, explore floating and sinking, and consider what makes a good boat through hands-on, practical experiments.

In geography, we will begin to explore simple maps, learning to recognise key features and use basic symbols to represent objects and places. This half term will be full of storytelling, exploration, and practical learning designed to spark curiosity and imagination.
