Physical Education at Hodge Clough Primary School

At Hodge Clough, we aim to deliver a high quality Physical Education (PE) curriculum which encourages all children to participate, succeed and excel in competitive sport and physical activities.  Our PE lessons and wider enrichment develop children's physical confidence and competence by providing opportunities for all children to take part in a broad range of activities.

Our lessons not only focus on the physical activity, they also develop children's social skills and thinking skills. We support children in understanding how to work as a team; listening to others, accepting advice and instruction for improvement and celebrating each other’s successes.

Our curriculum promotes positive attitudes towards health and fitness and inspires a love and passion for physical activity. Our intention, as children move throughout primary school and throughout their future lives, is to encourage an active, more enjoyable and healthy lifestyle.
